Family Vacation in L.A.

Tuesday, October 25th-Thursday, October 27th

We decided to take advantage of David's vacation time and get out of town. We couldn't afford to go too far so we planned a little getaway to LA. We stayed two nights in the temple apartments, which I love. They are just so cozy and familiar! We made an itinerary before we left to give us an idea of when we would fit in all of the activities we wanted to do.Tuesday:
Visitor Center
Santa Monica Pier
3rd Street
David's parents were down in LA already so they met up with us and we all went to Buca di Bepo for dinner and got dessert at Diddy Reise.
Wednesday:
Kidspace {it was a fun little children's discovery center that we found online with good reviews. It was pretty fun.}
Porto's for lunch
Griffith Park and Observatory {this includes the train ride and pony ride...very amusing!}
Universal City Walk
Thursday:
La Brea Tar Pits
The Grove
Lunch at The Counter

Then we headed home!
It was a much needed escape and we had so much fun!
We love spending quality time with the kids and each other and this was just the ticket!

Temple Apartment:

Santa Monica Pier:

{check out the dolphin}
{There was a large school of fish. If you look beyond the glare you can see lots of little grey silver lines under the water}

{There was a cool camera store off 3rd street that we hung out in for a little while and talked to a guy named Gibson from Australia that worked there.}

Kidspace:
{I had to clean up his face because he was having an especially bad allergy day. Sad.}
{Sarah volunteered to demonstrate the stages of a butterfly and she was so stinkin' cute!}

I think he is signing, "more," in this picture. He's a genius! ;)

Griffith Park:

Griffith Observatory:

{Looking at all of the pictures from this trip, I realized how bad I slouch. I need to work on that.}

LaBrea Tar Pits:

{It looked like the building just dropped off at the edge of the concrete}
{but it didn't}

The Counter:
Porto's:
{Potato Balls!}
{Cuban Sandwich...my favorite!}
Universal City Walk:

{There was a huge candy store!}

The Grove:
{Mario Lopez was doing his show from the The Grove while we were there.}{We rode on the trolley after we walked through the farmers market.}
