Grocery Bags are the Best!
So Sarah has always loved playing with things that make scruchy sounds, especially grocery bags. So today, after I unloaded the groceries, I put her on the floor in the Bumbo and let her go to town with the grocery bags. She LOVED it! Don't worry I watched her, I didn't let her put them over her head or anything. She is actually still playing with the bags as I type...she could sit there all day!

Sarah's New Tricks & Brody's Hair
Sarah has always been a good eater, but recently she has been eating a lot more than usual...maybe a growth spurt...so here she is drinkin' her bottle like a pro and eating big girl food.
So far she has liked everything I have given her. Sweet potatoes, sweet peas, apricots, carrots, prunes, and bananas.
EVERYONE gives my sister a hard time about Brody's hair, including me, but I am starting to find some benefits to him having long hair...like being able to practice my braiding.
This is what his hair usually looks like:

And here it is after I got a hold of it. This is the first french braid I have ever finished, not too bad.
This is a fishtail. I learned how to do this on my crimp n curl doll when I was like in 2nd grade, but this is the first time ever on a human. Can you tell I am having fun with his hair? It is good practice for when Sarah gets older.
Rockin' the side pony. I can't wait for Sarah to grow some hair...she's totally going to sport the side pony!
Good Friends
The Kennington's came to visit us last weekend and we had such a good time with them here. I miss them so much already! While they were here me and Lacy mostly visited while we watched the kids, we had a BBQ Saturday night with some other mutual friends, David and Kacey went to a movie Friday and Saturday night, we went to Dewars, we ate at Ceasars for lunch on Friday, we had so much fun! I only wish they could have stayed longer. Hopefully we will be able to make a trip up there soon. While they were here we took their family pictures and they turned out really good. The kids were really good and SO cute!
I just love this family!
Mikey & Larissa
Back when Sunni was in town, earlier this month, we went out and took some pictures of the newly engaged, Mikey and Larissa. They are amazing together so it was fun to take pictures of them. Plus, they are not bad looking people either, so that makes it easier to get a good picture. We went out behind the rafting warehouse to this nasty old tree that made for some good pics and the we went over to an old bridge to take some more bomb pictures. Here are just a couple of my favorite. I think I am going to make David a photography blog and start putting more of his work up there.
Jimmy made a great lighting man!
He hooked up David's wireless flash to the end of a painter's poll and held it over the happy couple the entire time...he was probablly sore the next day, but we all found him pretty amusing.

Sarah's 1st hair cut
Sarah had a few strands of hair that were pretty out of control so Katy gave her a hair cut. She just kept looking side to side and trying to look up to see what was going on, but for the most part she was really good. She just let Katy cut her hair. We actually cut her hair while she sat on Katy's lap and I held her, but I needed pictures of the event so we stuck her in the Bumbo and Katy cut a few more pieces that needed to be cut.

Apparently, the comb didn't taste very good

She's getting so big!
Serious Spit-up...
So the other night I nursed Sarah and then gave her a little formula and put her to bed. Well, she woke up crying about 10 minutes later and David went to get her because I was already pretty much asleep. Well, he didn't realize I had already fed her quite a bit and decided to give her a bottle to put her to sleep. Well, she drank the whole thing and this is what happened. David took this picture and he even put a quarter down next to it for reference. David said this happened twice...once here in the picture and again a minute later in front of the front door. I am glad we have all hard floor at times like this.
Memorial Day
We had a great memorial day. It started with a ward breakfast put on by, none other than, my very own husband. David is still activities director in our ward and he wanted to have a ward Memorial Day breakfast...so we did! He did a great job and the food was excellent! After that, I had Chelsea come over to babysit Sarah while David and I went down the river in kayaks. It was SO fun! I was pretty nervous when David told me we were taking separate kayaks down, but I ended up LOVING it! David just gave me very specific instructions the whole way and as long as I did what he told me, I was fine. I can't wait to do it again! Then we went home, cleaned up, and met my family at the park across from Chelsea's apartment for a picnic. Katy and Tyler even came with the kids and we had a great time talking and playing on the toys. It was a pretty good day!
Visiting with grandma
We try to get over to my grandma's house every Sunday to visit and here are a couple of pictures from a few Sunday's back.
You can't tell me she doesn't look like her daddy...she is like his little twin in this pic. She doesn't look anything like me at this age.
Sarah loves her Great-grandma Smith.
(side note: Brody calls them Grandma and Grandpa 'Sniff'...he thinks he is saying Smith, and I keep saying Smith, but the way he says it is so funny!)

Sarah's 6 month Check-up
Sarah recently had her 6 month check-up and here are her stats: She weighs 14lbs.12oz. and is 27.5 inches long. The doctor never tells me what percentile that puts her in and I never ask, but I entered in on the Babycenter website and this is what it said:
Child Growth Chart Calculator
Based on the data you submitted, your child falls into the following percentiles:
Length = between percentile 90 and 95
Weight = between percentile 10 and 25
So she is tall and skinny...go figure!
Some things about Sarah:
She is rolling everywhere now and kind of scoots.
She likes to talk.
She started eating baby food and so far she likes sweet potatoes and sweet peas.
She is a good sleeper.
She lover her pacifier.
She has the best laugh, but only laughs really hard for my grandpa, Brody, and Lucy.
She loves to be in her excersaucer, or, as Brody calls it, her "saucy."
She loves toys, especially her plastic keys or anything else that makes noise when she shakes it.
She loves to be outside.
She loves the water.
She has the cutest cry that sounds so fake.
She hates her diaper changed...she tries to roll over onto her stomach the whole time.
She loves little kids.

I just love her to pieces! She is so stinkin' cute!!!
