Cloth Diapers and the Sling

I finally decided to stick with the cloth diapers for good now. I kept telling myself when her umbilical cord stump fell off I would start using them. It fell off a couple of weeks ago and I started using them and she had a massive blow out in one so I thought well I will use my disposables until they are gone and then I will start with the cloth diapers. Well, she kept having blow out after blow out in the disposables...they weren't holding anything back! So I thought, what's the difference, and started with the cloth again yesterday and I am so much happier with them. Not one blow out so far and she has had some pretty full diapers, too. Once I got the hang of putting it on her right, they are great! Here she is modeling she very fashionable diaper and diaper cover:

Also, I finally started using a sling. Now, Laura, if you are reading this, don't feel bad, but I had Jocelyn make me a sling too. I really needed to get things done with two hands and Sarah is a bit spoiled and likes to be held most of the time so I really needed something to help me get things accomplished. Well, I never realized how hard it would be to get her in and out of it, but once she is in she is happy and I am happy. Anyway, here she is hangin' out in her little pouch:

She also really likes the Love Sac, but then again, who doesn't?

Nursery Updates

David finally finished the bookshelf/toy chest for Sarah's room and it looks amazing. I must admit I was a little nervous when David said he was going to stain it...I just didn't think it would look good. I wanted to paint it white, but I am so glad I let David do his thing because it is so pretty. Here are some pictures of David's masterpiece:

Now Sarah has a place for all her books and stuffed animals and such. Isn't the bear Jimmy got her adorable? I love it!

Here is the wall decal I ordered a while back to go over the crib. It finally got here and I love it!

Sarah being so stinkin' cute I still can't believe she's ours.

The cat was keeping a close eye on the baby while I took pictures.

After her bath...my favorite time to take her picture.

A few things about Miss Sarah

A bit about Sarah:
- she can grasp my finger
- she can lift her head off my chest
- she moves around more when getting her diaper changed, she gets so wiggly & last night I looked at her video monitor and she had fallen off of the pad she sleeps on
- her legs are so long that when she lifts them in the air they make her tip over on her side.
- her hands and feet are quite large
- she slept for 8 hrs. on Monday night and then 6 hrs. last night
- she slept in her crib for the first time on Sunday night; she sleeps better in her crib (and so do I)
- she's such a noisy eater; she gulps, breaths heavy, and smacks so loud the whole time...I don't know what I am going to do if I have to nurse in public, it is so embarrassing
- she smiles all the time! I know people say it is only gas, but I can get her to smile if I stroke her cheek with a soft blankie or when she gets her hair washed
- she hardly ever cries
- she LOVES to have her hair washed & combed...she is such a girl already
- she already grew out of her newborn diapers and some of her newborn clothes
- she had jaundice, but got better on her own
- 0-3 month clothes still don't fit, so newborn cloths are all that fit her, but the newborn one piece sleepers don't fit because her legs are too long
- she looks good in every color...yellow, pink, purple, green, and especially brown (she's momma's girl)
- she's very gaseous...she burps really well and farts alot; she always seems to fart when David is holding her and he gets so proud
- her right ear looks funny, but something only a mother would notice
- her left eye is a little smaller just like mine which I inherited from my dad
- she goes cross eyed occasionally which is really cute
- her facial expression is always changing; she makes the funniest, cutest faces it's hard not to stare at her all day
- she is such a good baby and so easy to please
- she has the coolest mom ever!
