#1 Birthdays

So I know it has been a while since I last blogged and it is certainly not for a lack of things to blog about. It is the exact opposite actually. I have had so much to say that I don't even know where to start. I think I will number my thoughts and go from there.

#1 Birthdays: September was a month of birthdays. First was Jimmy's on the 1st. I forgot what we did and I don't have pictures to remind me, but I am sure it was a great time.

Second was my grandma's on the 8th. She turned 71 this year. I made a delicious spice cake and we had dinner over at mom's house...it was a good time.
The next day was Katy's birthday. Katy turned a whopping 25 this year. We are getting so old. For Katy's birthday a group of friends got together to go out to eat at La Cabana. Also, someone (I have no idea who...wink, wink), told the waiter it was her birthday; so a group of guys came out, plopped a huge sombrero on her head and forced a spoonful of flan in her mouth. I thought it was quite funny, and after Katy realized she like flan, she didn't mind either.

Our little pregnancy train. And little did we know at the time, but Aubrey could have jumped on the end! I am due Nov. 24, Katy is Dec. 30, and Aubrey is May 26. Lots of babies!!! I am so excited!

Tyler's
birthday was the following week, the 16th. He turned 26! I don't have any pictures of Tyler's party, but we just got together here at our house and ate some hot dogs and had a good ol' time.

My brother, Dalton, turned 16 this year (on the 25th)! I can't believe it! Really...it blows my mind that my little brother is driving age. He is already as tall as me too! Anyway, for his birthday the family went out to eat at PF Changs...so yummy, so yummy. We ordered a ton of food and it still wasn't enough so we ordered desserts too!

Gaye was next of the birthday extravaganza. Sept. 27th she turned the big 6-0! We celebrated on the 30th, again here at our house, with some of her friends and family. It was also a good ol' time. Everyone brought a different salad and David cooked up some delicious steaks for everyone. I didn't get a lot of pictures, but I did manage to get this one of Gaye opening her presents.

Lucy Ann
was next. She turned 2 on Oct. 9! We celebrate at our house of course. Lucy had so much fun opening presents. It was a bit overwhelming considering the amount of presents she got, but she loved every minute of it. She also LOVED singing "happy birthday" and blowing out her candle, so much so that we did it twice because it just made her so happy. Here are few pictures of Lu at her party.

Well, # 1 took so long that I will continue with # 2 later.

a couple days late

to start things off i am in a fantasy baseball league that is really intense. we had a fun season that ended a few weeks ago. gus bryants friend lawrence moved from north carolina to las vegas. he has always been a huge dodger fan so he wanted to catch a game with a few of us that lived on the west coast. so gus myself and scott kirk all agreed to go. lawrence bought the tickets weeks ago and we didnt know when the game would even be played. all we know was we had tickets to the first dodger home game of the n.l.d.s. the dodgers clinched and they ended up playing one of the hottest teams in baseball the cubs. even a few days before the game we did not know how the first two games in chicago would turn out. the dodgers ended up winning both which meant they only needed one more to win the series. scott kirk was nice enough to drive us down there and we hung out before going to the game. at the stadium we parked about as far away as you can get. we had to park in an overflow area down in a ravine. we sat in the left field pavillion which meant we had a shot at a home run ball, but that didnt happen.

you can see manny warming up

i always enjoy seeing other really talented players on the other teams. this is alfanso soriano who is amazing but always injured and that night he went 0 for 5

it ended up being a close game which is always the best. but you can see how focused everybody is. note the stadium being packed even in the top deck.

this was the worst picture ever taken of them celebrating

this is a picture of gus and lawrence celebrating. gus looks old

this is me signifying the three game sweep. nice picture skills, gus

we stuck around and manny came back out of the dugout and invited us to his house for a party.

this is about 45 minutes after the game ended. nobody wanted to leave

we sat under pee wee's sign

that night we got a motivational speech from joe torre.

then tommy lasorda came out and told us we are the best fans in all of baseball

i was suprised that this would be legal in california. i like the color though

long story short this is us following the cubbies bus. we went back to the hotel they stayed at so i could tell them how bad they played and they should try harder next year. the nicest hotel i have been to in awhile.

I Love L.A.

a better post soon to come with lots of pictures to document the event. i just got home from the dodgers/cubs playoff game. when the tickets were purchased we didnt even know that the dodgers would be in the playoffs, much to our suprise they had already won two in a best of three series which meant that this game actually meant something. to make a long story short, they won and it was the best dodgers game i have ever been to.

i need to go to bed, its 2:30 am.
