Busy Week...Lots of Fun

Well, I have lots to blog about because we had one busy week. I also have been a little distracted because I started reading the Twilight series and for those of you who have read them you understand that I have been a little preoccupied. I started the first book last Wednesday and I am already half way through the third book...I will let you know what I think once I finish the series.

Wednesday (8/27): Maryellen and Brandon got here. We went to Carrows for dinner and then to the stake center to play volleyball. Well, everyone else played while I read.

Thursday (8/28): Alison's baby shower was Thursday night. That was a lot of fun.

Friday (8/29): Gaye, David, Me, Maryellen, & Brandon went to Carpenteria for the day. We shopped, ate at The Spot, played on the beach, and then went to The Palms for dinner. I did get pictures of us on the beach.

Me flying the kite. You can see David in the background; he threw the kite up in the air for me.

Pretty sunset.

David took our picture that's why he's not in it.

Saturday
(8/30): We (Karl, Gaye, David, Me, Jimmy, Maryellen, & Brandon) all went down to Glendale to the Apple store to help Gaye get a new laptop. Karl, Jimmy, and Maryellen went to Nordstrom Rack. We all went to the Angels game. The Angels played the Rangers and won. I am still a Dodgers fan, but I had a good time.

Jimmy and Karl wore the same shirt...how cute!

David & I looked better in b&w.

Ballfield

Sunday (8/31): David had the guys over for the Fantasy Football draft. I would have been upset, but Scott brought food, so that made it worth it. I went to see Mandi Smith's beautiful baby girl! We went to David's parents for dinner and then to Uncle David's to visit. We came back and had Jimmy's b-day cake & played Mario Kart on the Wii.

Monday (9/1): Labor day BBQ! We had a bbq at the Monica ballfield with a bunch of friends and family. David cooked hotdogs, hamburgers, and chicken and everyone brought a side dish and/or a desert. The kids had fun, the adults had fun, it was a successful event! Again, I didn't take pictures so there is no evidence of the fun. After the bbq, the family went to Dewar's for Jimmy's birthday. I had a George's Special for the 1st time and I think I am hooked now.

Tuesday (9/2): Ladies' Night. Our ward's "Mom's & Tot's" group went out for a girls only night. We went to Red Robin and ordered every appetizer they have and ate until we were all very full and then we all walked down to the Motherhood Maternity store because 3 out of the 7 of us there are pregnant...and it is just fun.

From Left to Right: Heather, Andrea, RandiSue, Laura, Me, Stefanie, & Maribel

I already posted pictures of us trying on the "belly" on our mom's and tots blog so I won't embarrass anyone here.

Wednesday
(9/3): For mutual we took the girls out to Buena Vista Lake to go tubing. We only had 4 girls who were able to come so they each had plenty of time in the tube.

I think they had fun...what do you think?

Thursday
(9/4): I got my hair done, but on my way I stopped at Barnes&Noble to buy Eclipse(the 3rd book in the Twilight series). I always feel SO much better after I get my hair done! Then I went to visit my grandma and she showed me her new "pet." She got this praying mantis out of her garden and kept it inside to show my grandpa...she is so funny.

I had a hard time getting my camera to focus so this is the best I could do. It's hard to tell, but it was actually quite large.

Later that night I had my ultrasound with the specialist from UCLA because they were a little worried that our baby was small because the head and abdomen were measuring small. I thought it was ironic that they would say our kid was small. I was never worried about it and when the specialist measured he says that the abdomen is normal and the head is actually measuring a week bigger than normal...somehow I knew they were going to say that...it makes a lot more sense given that David is the father.

Well, I told you it was a busy week!

Happy Birthday to Me!

Well, my birthday was August 17th, but I never had a chance to post about the fun.
My birthday was Sunday and my mom's was the Wednesday before on the 13th so we went out on Friday for the both of us. We went to Tony's Pizza next to the dollar theatre.

Since Gaye and Karl couldn't make it Friday and had to leave on Sunday to go to education week, they took me out on Saturday night. We went to Bill Lee's and I had lots of egg flower soup...mmm!

This is where the obsession began...thanks Gaye!

I can't remember if it was Saturday or Sunday and since I wore the same outfit all weekend that didn't help distinguish when, but David got me a Kitchen Aid! I have been wanting one for about 6 months now and I thought I was going to have to wait until Christmas so I was pretty excited.

Yeah!

It looks so pretty in my kitchen!

My mom had me over for dinner and cake on Sunday, my birthday. She made my favorite, german chocolate cake! Thank you mom!

On Monday night, Ashlynn Villanueva invited us over for dinner as my birthday present and also cake and ice cream! It was so fun...thank you guys!

Isn't she great!

The girls!
