So David had an interesting dream the other night and I thought it would be a good idea to document it because it is just too funny and I don't want to forget it.
He had a dream that we had a baby so small that we had to bring it home from the hospital in an Altoids can. He was a little grossed out by it too because it was so small.
Where do I start?! For the first time since we have been married, I am home full-time without work or school to worry about. While this has been nice and I have been able to get my house in order, I am totally stressed about cooking dinner. Cooking has always stressed me out because I never know what to make (and David is somewhat picky). I am convinced that if I had a week of meals planned out and could go to the grocery store and buy everything I need and know what to make each night, this would help SO much. So I thought that would be easy enough, but the problem I am having now is that I don't want to have meals with totally different ingredients and have things go to waste. I would like to find meals that "go together" ingredients-wise. What I mean is that say Monday's meal calls for one thing, it would be nice if I could use that same thing in Wednesday's meal. That way I save money at the store as well. And I know some people who can just go to the store without any meals planned and buy a ton of random groceries and then go home and be able to cook 2 weeks worth of dinners off of that (Katy!), but that just isn't me. This may sound totally "rookie" wife, but I want to know the best way to go grocery shopping and how to plan meals that make sense and don't cost a lot of money. So any suggestions would be GREATLY appriciated!
Another dilemna I am having, and maybe Cherie can help with this, is coming up with meals and snacks that David can take on the train and are good to eat cold. All I ever send him with is a pb&j and some cheese and crackers and that just isn't enough. I would like to be able to send him with enough food that he doens't have to eat out while he is gone (if that is possible).
In true Dave b fashion it has been awhile, I'm sure I have a couple drafts I could go off of but that doesn't seem like as much fun. A few weeks ago I went down to San Diego. It was a great trip except for the part where the transmission in our car burnt up, and yes it had fluid in it. so we have been without a second vehicle for a few weeks. the only real bad part is driving a truck that I am sure only gets 10 to 15 miles a gallon opposed to the car that got 30. i really liked the part where i found out that just the tranny is around $1800.00. It really hasn't been inconvenient yet so no complaints. I forgot to mention I went to s.d. for Gus and Jenna's graduation from s.d. state.
congratulations Bryant family
I saw this video and it blew my mind. It is a bunch of photos put together to look like video. I have seen this same work on a much smaller scale, like a notebook not the side of a building. check it out, also notice how much better vimeo is than youtube.
also another blog to check out. i love Make magazine. they used to have Bre Pettis do their podcasts but he stopped and I Googled him to see where he went. i found him at IMakeThings.com
so now he does podcasting for etsy and i know a few people out there like etsy. his stuff is really cool and sometimes it is way over my head but i still learn something. let me know what you think.
