Grandma and Grandpa "Sniff"

We love when Grandma and Grandpa come to visit! They are in Idaho now so Sarah and I are leaving Thursday to go visit them...I am so excited to get away for a while and relax! We will be stopping to see the Kenningtons and also be there for Maryellen while she has her baby!

Playing on the pool table....
a favorite pastime of all the grandchildren....and now the great-grandchildren!

They are the only two crazy enough to get in that pool...it is so cold!

Dynamic Duo

How can you not love these two?!

I love Blogs!

As I sit here browsing the internet on this Sunday afternoon, while hubby and baby and taking a nap, I am just thinking about how grateful I am for the internet and the blogging world. Now, before you laugh, just here me out. In the last 15 minutes or so, I have found so many inspiring women from all over the United States and Canada and have learned so much from them. I found a ladies blog from Nevada with FHE ideas and flannel board ideas (which I have been wanting to make for a while). She also has 7 kids and home-schools and keeps up with her blog, which has so many useful links and info on it. That alone is inspiring in itself. Another blog I found is written by a lady with 10 kids!! The name of her blog is Old-Fashioned Motherhood and just reading it make me feel so proud to be a mother and wife and makes me want to do the very best I can at my job as homemaker and nurturer. From their blogs I was linked to so many more resources that help me to be a better mom, wife, and homemaker. So it may sound silly, but today I am grateful for blogs and for the amazing women who write them!

(these are only 2 examples of the hundreds I have come across, some family and friends, some total strangers)

Grocery Bags are the Best!

So Sarah has always loved playing with things that make scruchy sounds, especially grocery bags. So today, after I unloaded the groceries, I put her on the floor in the Bumbo and let her go to town with the grocery bags. She LOVED it! Don't worry I watched her, I didn't let her put them over her head or anything. She is actually still playing with the bags as I type...she could sit there all day!

The Pineapple

This is for my dad. When he was single and had to take care of me and my sister, this is what he would do to our hair. We called it the pineapple.

Sarah's New Tricks & Brody's Hair

Sarah has always been a good eater, but recently she has been eating a lot more than usual...maybe a growth spurt...so here she is drinkin' her bottle like a pro and eating big girl food.
So far she has liked everything I have given her. Sweet potatoes, sweet peas, apricots, carrots, prunes, and bananas.

EVERYONE gives my sister a hard time about Brody's hair, including me, but I am starting to find some benefits to him having long hair...like being able to practice my braiding.

This is what his hair usually looks like:

And here it is after I got a hold of it. This is the first french braid I have ever finished, not too bad.

This is a fishtail. I learned how to do this on my crimp n curl doll when I was like in 2nd grade, but this is the first time ever on a human. Can you tell I am having fun with his hair? It is good practice for when Sarah gets older.

So much better! He kind of looks like a boy here.
(Chelsea would kill me if she read this)

Rockin' the side pony. I can't wait for Sarah to grow some hair...she's totally going to sport the side pony!
I love it!
(and I love the chocolate on Brody's teeth)
